Carnival Chic: Unleashing the Power of My Closet

As Saint Lucia Carnival season approached, I felt an electrifying buzz of excitement, eager for festivities once again. If you watched my Carnival Prep Vlog, you may know this already, but, I decided to approach my carnival fete outfits a bit differently this year. Instead of planning (and buying) new outfits, I took up the challenge of reimagining and repurposing items from my closet. My fete outfits caught the attention of many fellow revelers, and I got a lot of requests for links and brand names. I'm thrilled to share my carnival wardrobe journey, complete with outfit details and links (or similar options) for those who are curious!

Here is a list of what I wore during Saint Lucia Carnival 2023:

1. Pink Monokini Extravaganza at Remedy Beach Rave by J4F

At Remedy, I wore a Pink Monokini from House of Jem. This designer offers custom designs and various colors; you can reach out to her on Instagram or place an order on the website. I paired the Monokini with a pink side pouch from MRCH to keep my essentials close by and pink frameless sunnies. As for the rhinestone skirt, I've had it for years, but I found a similar gem on Amazon for those seeking a touch of sparkle.

2. Fishnet Fierce at Bacchanal Blocko by Fuzion Mas X Caesar’s Army

My favorite event of all time! Jouvert is all about letting loose and having fun, and my Black Fishnet One Piece from La Fraise Fashion was the perfect fit for the occasion! I was searching high and low for this specific style for Jouvert and dug this one up via Pinterest searches. Comfortable and stylish, this outfit allowed me to dance freely and enjoy all Bacchanal Blocko had to offer. I added some flair with sparkle fishnets and a thigh pouch from Carnivalista, and opted for my usual black sock sneakers from Amazon, which can be easily cleaned and reused for future Jouvert events.

3. Elegance in Green at SUNNUP Breakfast Party by Fuzion Mas

For the Fuzion Sunnup Breakfast Party, I went with a Green Two-Piece Skirt Set from Shop Beccanne. Though it appears to be sold out on the original site, I managed to find it elsewhere at a similar price. This event was extra special as it marked the first-ever Fuzion breakfast party, held at a breathtaking venue near Pointe Seraphine, surrounded by serene waters. The lightweight and comfortable nature of the outfit was ideal under the blazing sun, allowing me to fully immerse myself in the festivities

4. A Hit Combo at Escape Fete by J4F

For Escape fete, I wholeheartedly embraced spontaneity by deciding on my outfit on the day of the event. Mixing and matching with confidence, I opted for a vibrant orange striped midi skirt from JLux Label, originally part of a set. I decided to pair it with a peach bikini top from Riot Swim in the style "Jax." This unexpected combination turned out to be an absolute hit and I really wish I took more photos! Welp, I guess I’m wearing it again lol

5. VIP Beach Chic at Brazen by Exotic Events

For this year's Brazen beach event, the location was shifted to Malabar beach, I assume to accommodate the larger crowds. I treated myself to the VIP experience and decided on wearing a Teal Lace Sarong Set from Femme Fatale by Tori. This set has been a cherished part of my swimwear collection for a couple of years now, and it never fails to impress.

Special mention to my husband’s wax print shorts and robe from DIOP. I definitely got link requests about his fits too lol.

6. Tangerine Dreams for Carnival Tuesday

For the grand finale on Carnival Tuesday, I wore a sparkling custom Orange Mesh Tuesday Wear piece. My custom design was brought to life by House of Jem! From helping select the perfect fabrics to sketching my vision, her expertise shone through every step of the way. The attention to detail, top-notch quality, and flawless craftsmanship left me blown away and absolutely in love with the design. This personalized piece truly encapsulated the essence of carnival, and I paired it with an orange thigh bag from MRCH, Naked fishnets from Carnivalista in the shade “ truffle” and vibrant orange boots from Amazon.

This carnival season taught me the power of creativity and self-expression through fashion. By repurposing what was already in my closet, I curated outfits that captured the essence of each event. I hope my wardrobe choices inspire you to reimagine your own closet and unleash your carnival chic. Thank you for joining me on this carnival fashion adventure!
